Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Project Assistant for the Ahmed lab at the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research. The position will work under the direction of Zeeshan Ahmed, PhD, Assistant Professor at the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research(IFH); Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Rutgers; The State University of New Jersey.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Scientific subjects and research focus primarily include but not limited to: artificial intelligence, machine learning, cardiovascular diseases, gene expression and variant analysis.
  • Major research tasks include but not limited to: scientific literature reviewing, publications, grants writing, participating in lab meetings, presentations, exploring new ideas and validating hypotheses.
  • Supports lab members and collaborative ventures.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field or discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant research experience, and knowledge of general principles and practices within a discipline and ability to use that knowledge for practical application.

  • Demonstrated analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Essential ability to interact effectively and sustain relationships withinvestigators, colleagues, and partners at multiple locations

  • Excellent organization, planning, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good in communication, disciplined, experienced, and interested in abovementioned scientific subjects and research focus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S./M.S/Ph.D.
Equipment Utilized
  • Regular office material, and access to the lab’s software and data related to the projects involved.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Flexible, can work in person and/or remote and/or hybrid.
