Job Summary
Responsibilities
Conduct Research: Design and execute experiments, utilizing advanced techniques and methodologies, to address critical questions in synthetic chemistry and chemical biology. This includes, but is not limited to nucleic acid synthesis, nucleic acid labeling, genomics, and biochemistry.
Data Analysis: Analyze experimental data rigorously, employing statistical and computational tools as necessary. Interpret results and draw meaningful conclusions to contribute to the lab's research objectives.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other members of the lab, including postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, and research assistants. Foster a collaborative and supportive research environment.
Publication: Prepare research findings for publication in top-tier scientific journals. Contribute to the development of research papers, presentations, and grant applications.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior lab members, including graduate and undergraduate students. Share knowledge and expertise to facilitate their growth as researchers.
Lab Responsibility: Assist in the maintenance of lab equipment, reagent stocks, and laboratory safety protocols. Ensure that the lab operates smoothly and complies with all relevant regulations.
Innovation: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in the field and identify opportunities to integrate innovative technologies or approaches into our research.
Scientific Communication: Present research findings at lab meetings, conferences, and seminars. Engage in scientific discussions and networking to stay connected with the scientific community.
Grant Writing: Contribute to the development of research proposals and grant applications to secure funding for the lab's projects.
Performs experiments and collects and analyzes data. Participates in the promotion of a research project.
Participates in the preparation and writing of grant applications and reports, and co-authors/author's scientific research manuscripts. Provides peer review of grant applications and scientific manuscripts.
Performs other related work as needed.
