About the Department
 

Our Department offers training for careers in biochemistry and molecular biophysics. Our research encompasses all areas of modern biochemistry, including neurobiology, ion channels and membrane biophysics, signaling, epigenetics, protein evolution, engineering, immunology, stress response, DNA recombination, protein and RNA folding, and the cytoskeleton.
In addition to more traditional biochemical approaches, we apply cryo electron-microscopy, time-resolved X-ray crystallography, single-molecule techniques, computational approaches, phage display technology, small angle X-ray scattering and NMR spectroscopy.


Job Summary
 

The Research Professional will serve as a leader in the Keenan Lab, as an outstanding experimentalist whose expertise in cell biology and biochemistry will contribute to multiple ongoing projects. The Research Professional will contribute to publications, train students and others in the lab on complex biochemical assays, develop protocols, and will help manage three cross-divisional and cross institutional collaborations.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a resource for collecting data and performing analysis. Facilitates and promotes a research project by providing scientific or intellectual information.

  • Develops laboratory protocols and training on new techniques. Manage, analyze and make recommendations on complex data sets for research.

  • Creates first drafts for scientific writing and publications, including protocols and grants.

  • Trains and mentors laboratory personnel.

  • Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications
 

Education:

Minimum requirements include a PhD in related field.
