The Department of Comparative Medicine is seeking a full-time Research Coordinator (E S 7) for the Histology and Imaging Core/Comparative Pathology program at the School of Medicine, University of Washington.  This position will provide research support for and operational oversight of a Shared Research Resource, The Histology and Imaging Core (HIC) in the Department of Comparative Medicine, School of Medicine, University of Washington.  This resource consistently offers low-cost and efficient pre-analytic processing of research tissues for histology, immunohistochemistry, in-situ hybridization and imaging. The Histology and Imaging core also provides analysis of tissues processed in the core, including quantitative image analysis and morphometric analysis through the veterinary pathology service. The position reports to the core director and chair of the Department of Comparative Medicine. The position is responsible for assisting with staff management, client relations, and implementation of histology, immunohistochemistry, in-situ hybridization, and image analysis projects from clients within and outside the university.  This resource consistently generates critically important data sets that drive high-impact biomedical research at the University of Washington.
