About the Opportunity


The Gothe Laboratory (director, Dr. Neha Gothe) and Laboratory for the Scientific Study of Dance (director, Dr. Aston K. McCullough) in the Center for Cognitive & Brain Health seek a Research Coordinator to join their respective interdisciplinary research teams. The Research Coordinate will support a wide range of activities focused on the measurement of human activity, especially yoga and dance, in relation to physiological and psychological health outcomes. This position may serve as a launching pad to graduate and professional (e.g. medical school) studies. We encourage applications from members of under-represented groups in science.


1.Minimum Qualifications

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Public Health, Psychology, Nursing, Nutrition or a health-related field from an accredited college or university
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively within a research lab
  • Experience with organizing project activities in a fast-paced environment


2.Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Recruit and screen research participants
  • Support data collection efforts (including, but not limited to, wearable sensor-based physical activity measurement, questionnaire administration, and biospecimen sampling) using REDCap, Qualtrics or similar data and management and encryption platforms
  • Develop, and keep current, laboratory standard operating procedures, manual operations and procedures, and support the development and maintenance of Institutional Review Board protocols.
  • Support ad hoc day-to-day business in the lab; general day-to-day administrative activities across both the Gothe and McCullough labs
  • Support the dissemination of research findings through periodic project reporting, managing laboratory social media platforms, and engaging with lab PIs on scientific writing and reporting and activities
