The Connected Health Applications and Interventions (CHAI) Core is a NIH-funded core facility that was established in 2000 and is a primary resource for investigators at the University of North Carolina to obtain services in behavioral intervention research, qualitative research, mobile and web health intervention development. CHAI services include qualitative research methodology and trainings, software development, graphic design, intervention consultation, user experience and usability testing.
The Research Associate (Digital Project Manager) position supports and coordinates the design and build of digital research interventions crucial to a primary investigators research aims. This position will identify important research questions and implement user-centered research methods that translate to digital features and design which may be informed by UX consultation, user interviews, surveys, ethnographic research, and usability tests. This position collaborates with the digital-graphic designer, the research team and software developers to design engaging digital interventions while maintaining rigorous research methodologies while considering timeline and scope. 
The Research Associate (Digital Project Manager) will support the project development continuum from researcher idea to bid development to user experience consultation, design architecture, user testing, translation into software specifications, quality control testing and digital intervention deliverables. Responsibilities include establishing scope of work, milestones/tasks, and timelines, coordinating/leading meetings, building trust and credibility with researchers through empathy, open communication and organized documentation. This position will partner with clients to set research goals developed in the digital intervention and resolve any conflicts to ensure the users' best interest. The position requires substantial capacity to work independently, in a self-directed manner, to identify, manage, and coordinate activities. The Digital Project Manager will maintain good working relationships with the CHAI Team, Lineberger and other UNC researchers and stakeholders.
 
Minimum Qualifications:

* Masters in Information Library Science, Public Health, Health Communications, or related field. 
* Experience with project management, social media, event planning, presentation development, health technology, health behavior theory, and literacy issues.
* Working knowledge and appreciation of research environment; including experience as a member of a research team
* Familiarity with html, css, java
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. May require terminal degree and licensure.
