The Department of Biology at Texas A&M University is responsible for research and teaching within the vast disciplines of the biological sciences, from molecular cell biology to ecology and evolutionary biology. What We Want

The Research Associate will be primarily responsible for performing research using molecular, cell biological, and biochemical techniques to determine how the circadian clock maintains a 24h cycle in the absence of environmental cues. Additional responsibilities will include contributing to lab maintenance and administration. What You Need to Know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's in Biology or related degree

  • Two years of research experience in biochemistry/molecular biology and experience in antibody production

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Keep accurate lab notebook

  • Ability to communicate well in English

  • Strong work ethic

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Five years of research experience in biochemistry/molecular biology and experience in antibody production

  • M.S. in Biology or related degree

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Western blot analysis, protein co-immunoprecipitation, protein structural analysis, immunohistochemistry

  • Basic molecular biology techniques including PCR, DNA cloning, plasmid preparation

Responsibilities:

  • Research: Conduct molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry experiments at the bench

  • Data management: Maintain lab notebook

  • Administrative duties: Conduct weekly lab meetings and coordinate communication with lab mates, as well as performing other duties as assigned.
