What you need to know

  • TTI is a Texas based agency. This position has the flexibility of a hybrid remote option with two days in a TTI Texas based office. This can be discussed further during the interview process.

  • This position would preferably work from the TTI headquarters in Bryan, TX but other TTI locations would be considered and can be discussed during the interview process.

  • The salary range for position is commensurate. Final salary will be determined based on the applicant's qualifications and experience.

Job Summary

The Research Assistant is responsible for providing support for research involving technical writing and documentation as well as data gathering. Assists with various phases in research projects conducted within the Investment Analysis program. Continued employment in this position is contingent upon availability of funding and satisfactory performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Report preparation: Compile, document, and present results in formats required for inclusion in reports, technical memoranda, and presentations. Prepare technical documentation, including literature reviews, policy briefs, analysis, and summaries. (35%)

Report preparation: Assist with report preparation and other deliverables as required. Assist with materials for presentation of research results and other deliverables at technical meetings or other venues and to sponsors. (30%)

Assists with written tasks for proposals to funding agencies. (10%)

Summarizes results from data analysis and research tasks. (10%)

Conduct data gathering activities for research tasks. Assemble, organize, document, and archive datasets. (5%)

Assists undergraduate and/or graduate students and other staff involved in research. (5%)

Performs other related duties as assigned. (5%)

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or another relevant field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

No work experience is required.

Preferred Education and Experience

One to three years of experience with technical writing or writing for an academic and/or policy audience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Knowledge of proposal preparation process.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform common office functions.

  • Ability to frequently communicate with other individuals within the workplace.

  • Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
