Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a part-time Research Assistant for the Context and Identity in Youth Treatment (CITY) Lab at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP). Led by Dr. Linda Oshin and based at Rutgers University, research conducted at the CITY Lab focuses on the social context of depression, emotion dysregulation, and suicidality among adolescents and young adults of color. Projects focus on adapting treatments for youth of color, promoting mental health service use among marginalized groups, and understanding barriers to accessing empirically supported treatments. The role is an hourly position (up to 19.5 hours per week) that will require in-person meetings at Rutgers’ New Brunswick campus. This will be an excellent position for a candidate who is interested in pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology in the future.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Manages day-to-day operations of active studies.
  • Completes Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications.
  • Trains and oversees research assistants.
  • Supports grant management and research dissemination (e.g., manuscripts, presentations).

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Immunization Requirements
