Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Assistant for the School of Social Work. Under the supervision of Associate Director, Center for Prevention Science, at the School of Social Work, this position will provide administrative and logistical support to an externally funded project which focuses on substance use prevention research, training and evaluation
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Data entry, pre- and post- training logistical activities, administrative support such as taking meeting minutes, updating website, maintaining program documents, communication with external organizations, and researching content for social media management.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences such as social work, psychology, or related social services field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish and English preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail. Strong Organizational skills. Comfortable with technology.
  • Capability to learn new programs and methods. Ability to exercise independent judgement when appropriate.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with spreadsheet/database applications, and website development.
  • Experience with social media content management.
  • Knowledge of cultural responsiveness approaches.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Able to complete assignments independently, and work productively in collaborative situations.

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
