Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Research Coordinator will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of faculty and department accounts, ensuring that resources are well managed, accurately reported and in compliance with federal and state regulations as well as University of Maryland policies and procedures. The Research Coordinator will assist faculty with preparation, review, and submission of proposals, as well as management of Foundation, scholarship and other departmental accounts. The Research Coordinator will be responsible for management of post-award activities and will serve as a liaison with University and sponsor personnel regarding research contracts. A successful candidate must be enthusiastic, positive, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and have a demonstrable ability to take initiative.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience required.

Experience:
  • 3-5 years progressively responsible experience in a combination of budgeting, account reconciliation and analysis and/or finance, and proposal preparation, preferably in University setting.
