JOB SUMMARY:

The Recruitment and Admissions Assistant supports recruitment and enrollment initiatives under the supervision of the Director of Recruitment, Enrollment & Professional Advisement for both the MSW and BSW programs in the School of Social Work. The position also supports developing and strengthening the School of Social Work’s partnerships with community agencies, colleges and universities to promote Adelphi’s innovative BSW and MSW programs throughout NYC, New Jersey and Nassau, Suffolk and the Hudson Valley region. The hourly rate for this position is $32. This position is remote, with travel as needed to recruiting events.

REPORTS TO: Director of Outreach, Enrollment & Professional Advisement

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • The Recruitment and Admissions Assistant will be part of a collaborative team to create and enact a recruitment plan.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with partners in human Service agencies, community colleges, high schools and other stakeholders.
  • Provide advisement to candidates seeking admission.
  • Recruitment objectives targeting the School’s recruitment supporting other locations as assigned by the Director.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.
  • REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and public speaking skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to network effectively within the university, human service, public sector and non-profit communities.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media applications is required.
  • Physical requirements:

  • Ability to travel.
  • Flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
  • EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in social work is required.
  • Familiarity with social work education, marketing and public relations.
