Position Summary

The Department of Neurosurgery is looking for a Clinical Quality Analyst who will be an integral part in the success of quality and patient safety. The successful candidate should be able to collect, interpret, and prepare complex datasets to ensure the integrity of data being reported. Collaboration with faculty, residents, and administrative staff in the management of monthly mortality and morbidities (M&M), aide with reviews of patient safety events and should expect to provide reports and identify opportunity for improvements. Creation of databases utilizing HIPAA compliant tracking systems and databases such as Redcap and the ability to build reporting dashboards using excel, tableau, or other reporting tools. The incumbent should expect to sit on the hospital wide mortality review group; and will input and assign neuro deaths to the system and providers respectively. Finally, the incumbent will act as a consultant for medical students and fellows; helping these individuals collect data for research projects. Additionally, the individual should have excellent time management, organizational and excel skills. The department will support the incumbent with additional training such as being certified by Vizient in their Vizient Analyst Program.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong excel and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of quality and patient safety in an ambulatory setting
  • Experience with Midas, PowerInsights, Redcap and Vizient
  • Knowledge of CMS/State/Federal regulations
  • Familiar with statistical software programs such as Tableau, R, SPSS, IBM or similar
  • Demonstrated experience working in a medical setting and interaction with medical providers
  • Working knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Cerner
