PROFILE of the DEPARTMENT/COLLEGE 

The Department of Psychology has 29 full-time faculty members. It offers a Ph.D. in Psychological Brain Sciences (https://www.unlv.edu/psychology/graduateprograms ) with cognitive, developmental, neuroscience, and quantitative/social/community areas of study; and an APA-accredited scientist practitioner model Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (http://www.unlv.edu/psychology/graduateprograms/PhD-Clinical ); a BA in Psychology; and a Neuroscience minor. The Department is affiliated with a campus-wide interdisciplinary Neuroscience Ph.D. program (https://www.unlv.edu/degree/phd-neuroscience ).  

ROLE of the POSITION 

The Department of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in psychology with specialization in substance use, gambling or other addictive behavior disorders to begin Fall, 2022. The position would be housed in one of the Department's areas of study: clinical, cognitive, developmental, neuroscience, or quantitative/social/community. We are especially interested in candidates who conduct treatment outcome and/or health disparities research in traditionally marginalized or underserved populations, but are open to other impactful areas of addiction research.  This hire is part of a cluster hire in addictions in conjunction with the UNLV School of Nursing and UNLV School of Public Health.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

This position requires a Ph.D. in Psychology, Addiction Science, or related fields of study, from a regionally accredited college or university. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment. If applying to be housed in the clinical area, applicants are expected to have completed an APA accredited clinical internship and be license eligible in Nevada. 

SALARY RANGE 

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
