Job Description Summary

The Project Manager (PM) will lead and direct multiple small to enterprise level (large) project(s) by working with cross-functional IT teams to design, develop, and integrate IT processes and procedures, utilizing best practices, and industry-standard frameworks within the organization. The PM will oversee the day-to-day development of the project from the project charter creation/approval to project delivery, and manage all aspects of the budget, scope, schedule, risk, and communications for the project. This includes but is not limited to performing the following duties: gathering requirements, identifying appropriate staffing resources needed and assembling the project team(s), identifying milestones, and developing project(s) schedule and plan to successfully ensure project delivery within cost, scope, and budget. The PM will also directly interact with project sponsors and organization leadership associated with the project and is responsible for communicating the project status.


Job Description

DUTIES AND TASKS:  

  • Create, document, and manage all aspects of the scope, schedule, budget, risks/issues, and communications for the project to successfully ensure project delivery and implementation. 

  • Responsible for all aspects of Project Management from project charter to delivery, including but not limited to identifying and documenting project requirements; assembling project teams, creating and updating project plans and schedules; directing and monitoring work efforts; performing quality review; and escalating risks/issues on functionality, quality, and schedule issues appropriately. 

  • Responsible for tracking and communicating key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet project requirements.  

  • Directly interface with project sponsors and organizational leadership associated with individual projects regarding project status 

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the leadership as it relates to the department/organization. 

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of PMI’s framework for effectively managing projects 

  • Ability to establish and maintain courteous and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. 

  • Ability to facilitate meetings with all levels of stakeholders (end users to executive staff)  

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and be proficient with managing cost, schedule, and scope details. 

  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite of Products, particularly Teams and Excel 

  • In-depth understanding of Project Management tools (Smartsheets preferred) 

  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills 

  • Ability to prioritize projects and work  

  • Demonstrate a higher level of independent judgment and responsibility. 

  • Capable of comprehending and understanding different communication styles from a broad spectrum of disciplines 

  • Ability to delegate and assign tasks to appropriately 

  • Creative and innovative thinker and problem-solving capability 

  • Demonstrated ability to think, act, and lead strategically with broad business unit perspective  

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver projects within cost, schedule, and scope. 

  • Excellent communications skills (oral and written) 

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required in Project Management, management, business administration, Computer Science, MIS, systems management, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred 

  • PMI (CAPM or PMP) certification and 5+ years Project Management experience required OR 

  • 8+ years Project Management and completion of PMI Certification within 1 year
