Job Overview

Dr. Ann Gakumo, PhD, RN, Assoc Prof and Dr. Greer Glazer Endowed Chair for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusive Excellence in the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing, is seeking a full-time Program Manager. This project grant funded and the work is projected to begin July 2023 with an expected termination in December 2025. 
 

The Program Manager reports directly to the Endowed Chair for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and will assist in the implementation of DEI strategies and initiatives that reflect the tripartite mission of research, teaching, and service.  


Essential Functions
  • Provide administrative support for the DEI Chair and College's Committee for Equity and Inclusive Excellence. 
  • Work with the DEI Chair to review current practices and policies and assess the extent to which they support or hinder the College's DEI goals.
  • Assist in recruitment/retention of study participants and with data collection, entry, and analysis in DEI-related research in accordance with established protocols.
  • Assist in review and analysis of internal data to evaluate the College's progress towards DEI goals.  
  • Interact with students, staff, faculty, university departments, and external agencies as needed. 
  • Prepare written materials, reports, and presentations for meetings and programs as assigned.
  • Participate in professional development activities and training to aid in DEI strategies and initiatives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Three (3) years of relevant experience


Additional Qualifications Considered
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, public health, social science, or other health-related fields, with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in health behavior or health-related research. 
  • An interest in and/or commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusive excellence in research, health professions education, and academic climate.  
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are a must, given the need to share, explain, and/or interpret information on a regular basis while interacting with the DEI Chair and other University and outside constituents. 
  • Possess strong data skills (e.g. data entry, management, and quality assurance) and experience with data analysis.  Software training will be provided as needed.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to simultaneously set priorities among several tasks and meet deadlines.
  • The ability to organize and maintain all information for assigned projects.
  • The ability to use a computer and software such as the Microsoft Office Suite, database management, spreadsheet, word processing and graphics applications.
  • The position requires flexibility in work hours and allows some remote work. 

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
