The University of Cincinnati’s James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy (COP) and the College of Medicine’s (COM’s) Department of Internal Medicine announce a tenure-track faculty position of associate professor rank for an accomplished mid-career medicinal chemist. The successful applicant for the Winkle Chair in Medicinal Chemistry will serve as the medicinal chemistry director for the emerging Cancer Drug Development Institute (CDDI) at the University of Cincinnati (UC). The CDDI will be under the UC Cancer Center, comprised of investigators in the COM, COP, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, and UC Health (clinical arm of adult cancer medicine). The position’s planned start date is August 15, 2024 so that the medicinal chemistry lab will be operational before the end of the calendar year, independent of the CDDI timetable. Primary and secondary faculty appointments will be in the COP and COM, respectively. A ~2000 sq. ft. medicinal chemistry laboratory space plus additional labs for computational and drug assay work are immediately available to the hire, along with a generous start-up package.
