Job Overview

For more than 30 years, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) has provided a broad program of educational and social opportunities for a diverse audience of mature adults as an integral part of the University of Cincinnati’s outreach to the community. More than 2,000 adult learners aged 50+ participate in hundreds of programs, courses, fieldtrips, and social activities each year—both in person and online. Classes range from traditional college subjects to financial topics and hobbies.

 

As an integral part of the OLLI team of staff and volunteers, the Program Coordinator supports all aspects of the program including registration, classroom setup, communication, administration, and assisting students. The ideal candidate will have strong technical/computer skills, patience, creativity in problem-solving, flexibility, and proven focus on customer service. The Program Coordinator has the primary responsibility for the success of the enrichment classes for older adults both in the classroom and online by providing technical support and training to the volunteer instructors and class volunteers.

 

This position has a planned compensation of $40,000.


Essential Functions
  • Design/create and conduct seminars, classes, workshops or programs.
  • Develop program objectives and monitor quantitative and qualitative data on progress toward objectives. Review objectives to identify problems and solutions, prioritize solutions and develop action steps for program improvement.
  • Provide financial administrative support for program initiatives.
  • Develop, administer and analyze assessment/evaluation questionnaires. Compile statistics and prepare reports.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to recruit students and program participants.
  • Interact with staff faculty, external agencies and other university departments.
  • May conduct research and analyze relevant literature, other benchmark information to develop grant proposals, new program ideas and propose program changes.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

One (1) year of program coordination experience.


Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and video conferencing software.
  • Proficiency in both PC and Apple computer environments, audio visual equipment and troubleshooting multimedia classroom environment
  • Comfort with adopting new technology
  • Comfort with working with older adults, volunteers, and individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to move tables/chairs and lift AV equipment

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
