Job Summary
The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering seeks a program coordinator II. This position manages all communications/marketing for the department. In addition to a wide range of communications/marketing development, implementation and assessment skills, the individual in this position must also have strategic planning and project management skills. The individual must also be able to work with colleagues on communications/marketing associated with proposals, publications, research, instruction, extension, and continuing education.
Job duties include:
  • Marketing Administration and Coordination: Administration and coordination of a strategic marketing & communications plan for the Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, content development in both print and digital mediums, content distribution (via the departmental website, social media accounts, Extension outlets, Agricultural Communications articles, etc.), communications schedule management and prioritization, and analysis of metrics from departmental outputs to be used for refining strategic communications/marketing plan and development of impact measures.
  • Materials Creation: Report directly to the chair, and work closely with faculty and staff to help achieve departmental strategic planning, communications, and goals. Coordinate program planning and leadership for alumni, community engagement and outreach, and continuing education for multiple projects, including websites, extension newsletters, communications, and programming. Develop and maintain extension and departmental websites and social media. Develop new webpage designs and graphics. Store, catalog, and maintain web archives and graphics files. In addition, this position is expected to: maintain current college and university brand standards. Coordinate web content with faculty, staff and students. Attend campus Instructional Designers and social media meetings to serve as reference for faculty, staff and students on current UK standards.
  • Departmental Communications: Outline marketing efforts and requirements. Maintain an open line for fielding suggestions and questions. Ensure that employees and partners are kept abreast of all necessary internal and external communications. Updating and managing department listservs and internal Teams/SharePoint site.
  • Publication and Grant Support: Coordinate extension publication review process. Work with faculty, staff, and students on developing alternative methods to distribute materials to internal and external clientele. Assist faculty and students with grant applications and publications including graphics, editing, and organization.
