About the School of Information Technology

The School of Information Technology (SoIT) confers an ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity, a Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT), and a Doctor of Philosophy in Information Technology (PhD-IT). The SoIT has been growing at 18% annually and currently serves more than 1,500 students with 24 full-time faculty members, 19 full-time staff, and 30 part-time faculty. The SoIT is home to several centers including an NSA/DHS Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, the Information Technology Solutions Center, the Ohio Cyber Range Institute, Applied Machine Learning and Intelligence Center, and the Civic Technology Center.

About the Job

The School of Information Technology seeks to hire a Program Coordinator for Graduate Programs.

 

The principal workload assignment of this position will be to support the graduate programs including students, staff, and faculty. The SoIT offers on campus and online Master and PhD programs, as well as an Integrated Accelerated Master for undergraduate students.  This position is a member of the SoIT Graduate Office and shares responsibilities with this office.


Job Overview

Under general supervision from the Graduate Director and Assistant Director – Graduate Programs, the Program Coordinator will coordinate and support all aspects of the SoIT graduate programs.

 

In relation to the graduate programs, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for advising graduate students, managing program events and initiatives, and managing policies and procedures. The selected candidate will also assist with the IT Integrated Accelerated Master Program, which is a program designed to allow our undergraduate SoIT students to graduate with an undergraduate degree and master's degree at the same time. The current master's degrees established for the Accelerated program are in Criminal Justice, Information Technology, Instructional Design and Technology, Health Informatics, and Business Administration.


Essential Functions
  • Design/create and conduct seminars, classes, workshops or programs.
  • Develop, administer and analyze assessment/evaluation questionnaires. Compile statistics and prepare reports.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to recruit students and program participants.
  • Communicate with graduate students on important deadlines
  • Process scholarship letters to eligible recipients
  • Advise students on curriculum and degree completion
  • Assist with the IT Accelerated Program
  • Assist with the data collection for SoIT Graduate rankings
  • This position will require collaborative effort with various personnel across the University, including but not limited to: College advising and recruitment staff, UC Online staff, partner faculty and staff in the accelerated programs, and the UC Graduate office.

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

One (1) year of program coordination experience.
