Boston University's Department of Biology and Program in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB) seek an Undergraduate Program Coordinator. This position will assist the Biology Department's Undergraduate Program Specialists in all of the academic functions for the Biology Department and the BMB program. These majors have over 1,000 undergraduate students.

This position is responsible for coordinating and organizing the advising process for the department, designing course directories, and ensuring that the department website and social media sites are updated accordingly. The position will organize the faculty and teaching fellow evaluation process, coordinate the transfer credit evaluation process, maintain all undergraduate student files, and create and maintain electronic student databases. This position may be called upon to provide information and statistics to other staff members as required for reports. This position will also assist the Undergraduate Program Specialists with annual events, including Open Houses and Commencement. The Program Coordinator also manages and recruits students for the NSF-REU SURF research program every summer and provides support to the SURF Program Manager. This position provides backup duties to the reception desk as needed.

About the Candidate

  • An Associate's degree and 1-3 years of experience are required for this position. We are willing and happy to train any industry-specific skills required to perform this job.
  • Experience with student information systems is a plus, but not a requirement.
