The Program and Training Assistant is responsible for supporting program directors, faculty, and training departments within our masters and doctoral programs.  The assistant also plays a key role in the coordination of our Master’s Qualifying Exam and Doctoral Qualifying Exam processes. Interface with Program Directors and Training Faculty is essential.  The Assistant reports to the AVP, Campus Operations and Finance, Vancouver Campus.  

 Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2-3 years of related experience/education in administration and office work; preference given to those with related experience within and educational/academic setting

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 Program and Faculty Administrative Support:

  • Works closely with Program Directors to support admin needs of the program, faculty, and adjunct faculty
  • Supports program reviews both for the Ministry of Advanced Education and for internal audit
  • Preparation of Adjunct Faculty teaching contract/payment information
  • New faculty onboarding/orientation
  • Plans on campus events

Training Administrative support:

  • Works closely with training departments within programs
  • Assist in the collection, processing and tracking of paperwork related to practicum experiences (ex. student hour logs, evaluations, contracts, etc.).
  • Keep an active, up-to-date record of students’ progress through practicum placements through the use of time2track and other systems
  • Manage external documentation requirements critical to practicum placement (criminal record checks, HSPnet placements, health authority waivers, etc.).
  • Collection of student materials and coordination of Qualifying Exams in the Counselling Psychology and Doctoral programs

Work Environment (Physical Demands):  The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

Expected Salary Range: $40,000.00 - $46,000.00
