Professor of British Literature - Associate or Full

The University of Chicago Department of English Language and Literature invites applications for a tenured faculty position at the rank of Associate or full Professor. We seek applicants with expertise in nineteenth-century British literature, with a preference for candidates who specialize in prose genres, intellectual history, and/or the relationship of writing to other creative media. The expected start date of the position is July 1, 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Applicants must hold a PhD in English literature or a related field and have a record of scholarly publication in distinguished venues. Applicants must also have experience teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
