Position Summary
The Phanstiel Lab at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (http://phanstiel-lab.med.unc.edu/ ) is looking for a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral fellow to develop and apply computational tools to study gene regulation in human development and disease. We are particularly interested in understanding the mechanisms through which enhancers and three-dimensional chromatin structure alter transcriptional output during cellular processes. The applicant will develop new tools to detect chromatin loops, identify differential loops, and predict enhancer-promoter connections. They will then apply these tools to existing and forthcoming multi-omic data sets (Hi-C, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, GWAS, MPRA, QTL, etc) generated by our lab to understand gene regulation and investigate the genetic underpinnings of Alzheimer’s Disease, leukemia, and osteoarthritis. We encourage applicants with experience in computational analysis and integration of genomic data sets.
