Position Summary
The Nye lab in Fisheries Oceanography seeks a postdoctoral scholar to study the effects of environmental factors and oceanographic processes on marine fishes and ecosystems. This is an exciting opportunity to combine laboratory and field data into population and/or ecosystem models to understand how climate influences the distribution of marine fishes and the productivity and stability of marine ecosystems in the South Atlantic and MidAtlantic. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with national and international collaborators as well as mentor undergraduate and graduate students.  Location: Morehead City, NC 1 year appointment with second year reappointment pending performance review and funding availability.
Educational Requirements
PhD in marine science, fisheries science, ecology or related field.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidate must have a strong background in statistics and modeling, preferably with experience with Bayesian statistics. They must also have strong interpersonal skills and have a record of publishing their research.
