Required Education and Experience:
- Appropriate PhD
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in English
- Basic computer skills
- Expertise in basic laboratory techniques of virology, molecular biology and immunology including tissue culture, PCR, RT-PCR, qPCR, cloning, protein expression, Western analysis, immunostaining, fluorescence microscopy
- Technical expertise of CRISPR technology, confocal microscopy, FACS, RNAseq, Co-IP, ChIP or RNAscope
Preferred Education and Experience:
- PhD in Virology, Immunology, Molecular Biology or related fields
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Hands on research experience in basic laboratory techniques of virology, molecular biology and immunology including tissue culture, PCR, qPCR, cloning, protein expression, Western analysis, immunostaining, fluorescence microscopy
- Strong track record of peer-reviewed publications in the life sciences
- Experience working with diverse individuals and communities
- Demonstrated ability to do independent research
- Fundamental knowledge of virology, molecular biology and immunology
- Advanced computer skills
- Statistical analysis
Responsibilities:
- Research - Design, organize and conduct experiments, summarize findings and write manuscripts, contribute to grant development
- Laboratory management - Order supplies, calibrate equipment, monitor and refill liquid nitrogen and CO2 cylinders
- Assistance - Train other laboratory personnel (e.g. students), help students in their own projects
- Other - Performs other duties as assigned
