Required Education and Experience:

• Appropriate PhD

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in English
• Basic computer skills
• Expertise in basic laboratory techniques of virology, molecular biology and immunology including tissue culture, PCR, RT-PCR, qPCR, cloning, protein expression, Western analysis, immunostaining, fluorescence microscopy
• Technical expertise of CRISPR technology, confocal microscopy, FACS, RNAseq, Co-IP, ChIP or RNAscope

Preferred Education and Experience:

• PhD in Virology, Immunology, Molecular Biology or related fields

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Hands on research experience in basic laboratory techniques of virology, molecular biology and immunology including tissue culture, PCR, qPCR, cloning, protein expression, Western analysis, immunostaining, fluorescence microscopy
• Strong track record of peer-reviewed publications in the life sciences
• Experience working with diverse individuals and communities
• Demonstrated ability to do independent research
• Fundamental knowledge of virology, molecular biology and immunology
• ​Advanced computer skills
• Statistical analysis

Responsibilities:

•  Research - Design, organize and conduct experiments, summarize findings and write manuscripts, contribute to grant development
• Laboratory management - Order supplies, calibrate equipment, monitor and refill liquid nitrogen and CO2 cylinders
• Assistance - Train other laboratory personnel (e.g. students), help students in their own projects
• Other - Performs other duties as assigned
