Position Description
We are excited to announce an opportunity for one or more Postdoctoral Research Associates to pioneer the integration of Generative AI (GAI) in both the operational framework and data analysis strategies of the Rubin Observatory. This role involves innovative applications of GAI, which may include optimizing observational schedules, augmenting real-time observatory operations, and enabling sophisticated natural-language inquiries within the Rubin database.
We invite candidates who are passionate about merging cutting-edge generative AI tools with the most advanced astronomical survey project to date. Join us in this groundbreaking endeavor.
Key Qualifications:

· Proficiency in applying Generative AI at an API level.
· Practical knowledge of interface tools such as LangChain.
· Experience in astronomical image analysis and exploitation.
Our Focus: We aim to explore and enhance the application of large language
