A postdoctoral position is available in Newborn Developmental Biology Laboratory in the Department of Pediatrics, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. This dynamic research group is led by Dr. Xingbin Ai (Director of Basic Research, Division of Newborn Medicine and co-directed by Dr. Paul Lerou (Chief, Division of Newborn Medicine) (www.massgeneral.org/children/research/newborn-developmental-biology-lab ). This position is tailored for research projects that study how congenital diseases and early life respiratory infection alter the function of bronchial basal stem cells thereby leading to long-term airway dysfunction. The projects employ clinical samples, patient stem cell-based disease models, and mouse genetics to investigate transcriptional and epigenetic factor regulation of gene expression in bronchial epithelium of infants suffering from these conditions. The successful candidate should hold a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in the field of stem cell biology or molecular biology. A record of creativity and productivity are required.  The lab is located on picturesque Charles River Campus of MGH. Compensations include an adjusted postdoc salary (1.2 times of the NIH postdoc salary guideline starting from 10/1/2024) and an excellent health care package.
