Postdoctoral Fellow For Pain Phenotypes - (240000AM)
 

The Department of Pain and Translational Symptom Science at the University of Maryland, Baltimore invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow position to join Dr. Luana Colloca’s laboratory. Our research focuses on the mechanisms of immersive virtual reality mechanisms, socially induced placebo effects, brain mapping and pharmacological approaches

The successful applicant will be part of a vibrant research program focusing on the neurobiology of pain experience and pain modulatory systems. Collaboration with faculty in the department as well as with scientists/clinicians in other departments and the UMB Center for the Advancement of Chronic Pain Research (CACPR) is strongly encouraged.

This job will require the candidate to be able to: 

  • Process autonomic measurements
  • Perform advanced analyses of clinical phenotypes,
  • Have experience with chronic pain markers
  • Have experience with scientific writing.
 

Qualifications

 

The candidate should have a PhD in nursing, experimental and/or clinical psychology, graduate training in science related fields, extensive experience with human data collection in healthy controls and participants suffering from acute and chronic symptoms, and be able to learn/perform quantitative sensory testing and virtual reality approaches.
