Location: Baltimore, MARYLAND
Deadline: 26 May 2024

Postdoctoral Position in Lung Cancer

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center at University of Maryland School of Medicine. The candidate will study lung cancer biology and how genotype/phenotype plays a role in therapeutic response to existing chemotherapies as well as novel compounds in development. Our lab focuses on investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC) proliferation and development of drug resistance. Specifically, we are interested in overcoming NSCLC resistance to EGFR inhibitors by understanding the molecular basis of resistance. In addition, we seek to evaluate differential drug sensitivities of various subtypes of SCLC. We utilize and develop both murine and human models of lung cancer to test our strategies. Our long-term goal is to develop novel therapeutic strategies that are effective in lung cancer patients. The postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to work in a diverse, inclusive and well-mentored environment at this NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center.

Requirements:  Highly motivated PhD or MD/PhD self-starters who graduated within five years are encouraged to apply.  A solid background and working experience in the following areas are highly desired:

1. Manuscript writing

2. Mouse models of cancer

3. Molecular and cell biology

4. Immunology

Preferred candidates should be fluent in English.  Please e-mail an application including a cover letter describing current research, future interests, expected start date, and CV, selected publications, names and contact information of three references to:
