Position Description
The Business History Initiative at Harvard Business School seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow for twelve months study and research at Harvard Business School. The fellow will work closely with Professor Geoffrey Jones, Isidor Straus Professor of Business History at Harvard Business School.
The fellowship is designed to enable scholars who have already demonstrated an engagement with business history broadly defined to deepen their knowledge of teaching pedagogy and research methods in the discipline. The fellow may have an opportunity to contribute to course development in MBA and doctoral courses in business history. They will also take part in a weekly research seminar in the fall of each year in which leading scholars present their work. The fellowship is also designed to let the participant develop their work in the discipline. The fellow is encouraged to submit an article to Business History Review during the fellowship year. They might also organize a research conference on a subject related to their research.
This appointment is set to begin July 1, 2024 and run through December 31, 2024. Extension through June 30, 2024 is possible based on funding and performance.
Basic Qualifications
A Ph.D. is required.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have obtained your Ph.D. in the past 12 months you must be able to provide a certificate of completion from the degree-granting institution OR a letter from the institute’s registrar stating all requirements for the degree have been successfully completed and should verify the date the degree has been conferred. No exceptions.

This position is residential. Fellows are expected to live in the Cambridge/Boston area for the duration of their appointments.
