Occupational Summary

Conduct independent research activities under the guidance of a faculty mentor in preparation for a full time academic or research career.

Description:

Dr. Sudha Shenoy’s laboratory is seeking a recent PhD graduate interested in the study of signaling and trafficking of seven-transmembrane/G-protein-coupled receptors (7TMR/GPCRs). 7TMRs/GPCRs are the largest and most diverse class of signaling receptors in the mammalian genome and the target of nearly half the drugs currently in use.  We are interested in elucidating the roles of deubiquitinases in the regulation of GPCR and beta-arrestin signaling and trafficking mechanisms using both in vitro and in vivo model systems.  A candidate who is highly motivated and shares a vision of excellence and commitment to research with a recent PhD in Pharmacology, Cell Biology or related discipline is preferred. Prior experience with mouse models is also preferred.

Requirements:

-         PhD in a relevant field (pharmacology, cell biology or related discipline).

-         Demonstrated expertise in molecular, cellular biochemical techniques;

experience with mammalian cell culture, microscopy, immunoassays, molecular biology, animal models.

-         Excellent communication skills and an ability to work well with others.

-         Self-motivated and have a strong work ethic.

-         Demonstration of past research productivity (publications)
