Duke University’s Department of Dermatology has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Associate in Dr. Jennifer Zhang’s laboratory.

Work Performed

  • investigate the signaling regulators controlling crosstalk between keratinocytes and immune cells, as well as cutaneous microbiome during wound healing and inflammation, and cancer progression. These studies involve use of genetic animal models and a range of cellular and molecular biology techniques including but not limited to flow cytometry, cell culture, immunohistology, immunoblotting, and transcriptome analyses.
  • work with other lab members including but not limited to graduate and undergraduate students.
  • discuss experimental plan and results with Dr. Jennifer Zhang through one-on-one meetings and during the weekly lab meetings, as well as monthly departmental work-in progress seminars.
  • attend annual national conferences such as the Society of Investigative Dermatology.
  • Prepare research results for manuscript publication.

Position is on – site located on the 4th Floor of MSRBIII at Duke University Medical Center, 3 Genome Court, Durham, NC 27705.

Min Degree Requirements:  Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g. Sc.D., M.D., D.V.M.).  Should be used for post-doctoral fellows if the candidate has completed all of the requirements for a degree, but the degree has not been formally conferred; the candidate may present evidence of completion of the degree requirements, together with a statement documenting the date on which the degree is to be conferred.
