Posting Summary | The position involves conducting original research in the broad areas of aquatic chemistry, corrosion mechanisms in engineered water infrastructure, isotope analysis, and health impacts of exposure to plumbing-related metals. The candidate will lead experimental study design, setting up and conducting of experiments, analyzing and reporting of findings, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. The position is related to projects focusing on metals release from pipes and premise plumbing, role of corrosion inhibitors on metal sequestration from potable water in various plumbing configurations, and exploring novel in-line corrosion control deployments for water systems in domestic and international settings. |

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience | The position has a minimum requirement of a Ph.D. in a related field (civil, environmental, or chemical engineering or physical sciences) and published articles with primary data. Candidates should have experience in conducting laboratory experiments, using analytical equipment (e.g., ICP-MS, SEM, XRD), working with diverse datasets, and interpreting results leading to scientific publications. A working knowledge of statistics and statistical software (e.g., R, Python) is necessary. |

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | Background in electrochemistry/corrosion science is strongly preferred. Experience with pilot-scale experiments and operating an ICP-MS is desired. Interest in becoming an independent researcher or academic is highly desired, as you will be helping setup a research laboratory, mentor students, and write grant proposals. |

Immunization Requirements
