Position Duties
Loyola University Maryland invites applications for an adjunct teaching position for EG 140: Programming Tools for Engineers and Scientists in Fall 2022 (9/6/2022 – 12/12/2022). The course is currently scheduled for MWF from 10:00 AM – 10:50 AM but can be rescheduled if necessary.
EG 140 is an introduction to computer programming intended for first-year engineering students.
  • EG 140: Programming Tools for Engineers and Scientists Course Description: Introduces students to programming through multiple environments, utilizing manual and automated data entry, to analyze engineering problems, and present analyzed data in tabular and graphical formats. Students use spreadsheet tools and programming environments through Excel, Python/C#, and MATLAB for data collection and analysis of engineering problems related to programming logic, probability and statistics, and vector and matrix analysis. Required for engineering majors.
Required Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or similar discipline.
  • Ph.D. candidates may be considered if they have extensive prior teaching experience.
  • A strong interest in teaching undergraduates
  • A willingness to respond to feedback and work collaboratively with multiple instructors.
  • An interest and/or demonstrated skills in high-impact teaching practices.
  • An interest and/or demonstrated knowledge in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or similar discipline.
  • Industry and/or research experience that matches the course content.
