Job Title: Part-time Research Study Coordinator (Entry – Intermediate Level, 0.8 FTE)

Job Summary:

The Borges Laboratory in Medical Oncology has an opening for a 0.8 FTE (80% time) Clinical Science Professional position. 

This position will assist with and oversee the day-to-day operations of translation studies in the Borges lab. The position will work primarily on the 09-0583 Immunology Study.  Job duties include consenting patients (screening clinic, contacting patients, then consenting), abstracting data from EPIC and entering it into REDCap, and requesting archival tissue samples from other institutions. There will also be general research duties like helping maintain records and samples from older studies. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with and oversee the day-to-day operations of translation studies in the Borges lab.
  • Communicates and serves as a liaison with hospital staff, physicians, and tissue bank personnel.
  • Adheres to research regulatory standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of studies to ensure compliance with requirements of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), study protocols, department, hospital/clinical standard operating procedures, and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in subject recruitment efforts, including communicating with patients expressing an interest and all pre-screening/screening activities. 

Work Location:

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Entry Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field.
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Intermediate Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field.
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • One (1) year clinical research experience.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or health related field.
  • Two (2) years of clinical research or related experience.
  • Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g., EMR or EHR and data management systems).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this part-time 0.8 FTE position has been established as:

Entry Level: $37,667.20 - $47,912

Intermediate Level: $40,991.2 - $52,140

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
