Position Summary Information


Objective

Provide instruction for the Certified Nurse Aide and possibly the Certified Medication Aid program. Also provide instruction in HIPPA laws, medical ethics, basic medical terminology and patient triage.

Essential Duties

Provides lecture and hands-on instruction in area of expertise.

Follows published schedule of classes.

Covers all course competencies in instruction.

Grades, administers and facilitates quizzes, exams, hands-on practicums or other tools used to evaluate student progress.

Maintains knowledge of, and exhibits, current methodology in area of instruction.

Manage classroom activities by enforcing standards, rules and regulations.

Promotes a culture of customer service through words and actions.

Recruits students and maintains active student enrollment through quality classroom instruction and student communication.

Assists students in search for job opportunities and prepares students for job interviews.

Provides feedback to the Program Manager on course progress, suggested improvements, or problems that may impact program quality or stability.

Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

At least two years of nursing home experience.

Proficient in the medical and technical knowledge and skills required for a CNA and/or CMA.

Must possess an LVN for CNA classes and Medical Experience for CMA classes.

Demonstrated proficiency in English; Written and verbal skills.

Must be high school graduate or have G.E.D.

Preferred Experience and Training

Prefer at least one year experience teaching adults.

Prefer an Associates degree or higher

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.

Required Degree, License or Certifications

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Registered Nurse (RN) License
