This position will participate broadly in the student recruitment functions of the office. Responsibilities will focus on the development, organization, and coordination of all on-campus engineering recruitment efforts, particularly including the development and evaluation of one-on-one on-campus student visits, as well as assisting as necessary with off-campus recruitment programs. Some travel, evening and weekend work required. Personal KU experience, engineering specific, and general university knowledge will be used in all areas of recruitment.
30% - Meets with prospective students to discuss their academic interests and to share and feature relevant academic programs and facilities at the School with those students.
25% - In conjunction with the Assistant Dean, plans, develops, executes and analyzes all on campus recruitment programs and events for prospective engineering students and their families. These include, but are not limited to, individual and group presentations, Engineering Open House, Engineering Scholars Day, and other related School and University events throughout the school year, and oversees the selection, training, programming, and scheduling of approximately 35 Engineering Ambassador Students.
15% - Assist the Assistant Dean in developing and implementing a comprehensive recruitment strategy including reviewing and analyzing data to determine the effect of on-campus visits, events, and programs. Current year data and enrollment management tools will be used, including Slate and Tableau, to identify, qualify, and target students who will assist the School of Engineering in meeting desired enrollment goals. Enrollment goals include, but are not limited to, increasing the diversity in engineering programs and increasing the matriculation of high-ability students.
10% - Processes applications and communicates application decisions for the School of Engineering
10% - In collaboration with the off-campus recruitment coordinator, assists with college fairs, school visits, and engineering outreach programs and summer camps when needed.
10% - Consults with the Assistant Dean regarding recruitment strategies on topics including, but not limited to, the development of programs, recruitment strategies, publications and presentations. Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Dean.
