Description of Work Unit | Colorado State Forest Service Nursery is a seedling nursery that provides landowners and organizations an opportunity to purchase seedlings at minimal cost and use them for conservation purposes. Reforestation, windbreaks, wildlife habitat, riparian, and fire/ flood recovery are just a few of the areas the nursery specializes in providing seedlings for. |

Position Summary | Nursery worker Duties and Responsibilities: Assisting in grading, boxing and shipping of seedlings Weeding and thinning in greenhouses Weeding and irrigating in bareroot fields Grounds maintenance Light construction work and repair of infrastructure Painting, cleaning and organizing in the shop and other out buildings |
Position Minimum Qualifications | Ability to have a flexible schedule during the summer and spring shipping season Ability to work 15-40 hours a week Ability to lift at least 25-30 lbs. Shifts of no less than 4 hours per day Able to multitask and work alone when necessary Possession of a valid driver’s license |
Preferred Qualifications | Experience working outside in one of the following trades; nursery work, landscaping, grounds maintenance General knowledge of Colorado’s trees, shrubs and perennials Previous experience working in an environment where multitasking and autonomy are necessary Good oral communication with customers and other employees |
