Occupational Summary:

Dr. Ehsan Samei has an opening for a non-Duke student to provide support for his research program within The Center for Virtual Imaging Trials (CVIT) and Carl E Ravin Advanced Imaging Laboratories. The research includes looking into various 3D printing techniques and materials in order to print anatomical models that mimic the attenuation properties of the body.  The student will image the models with different CT scanners to use as validation for our CT simulation tools and to compare imaging devices.

Work Performed:

Duties may include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Carry out experiments and research according to protocols outlined by researchers 

  • Collect and log experimental data; conduct statistical analyses of data sets as required

  • Prepare graphs, spreadsheets, presentations, and/or posters related to research results 

  • Review print and online resources to gather information 

  • Check facts, proofread, and edit research documents to ensure accuracy 

Classification established for any non-Duke student paid at an hourly rate.  This includes high school students, visiting undergraduate students, and hourly visiting graduate students. 

The incumbent will perform various duties as assigned by the department. Incumbents are compensated at varying rates of pay based upon the work being performed and according to the pay schedule developed and maintained for each department.  Incumbents must be paid at least minimum wage.
