Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Neurology is searching for full-time neuro-oncologist faculty members at any rank. Appointees will join a growing neurosciences service line, which includes the opportunity to practice at University of Chicago’s expanding clinical locations both in and outside of our main campus in Hyde Park. It is anticipated that appointees will spend time both in Hyde Park and at other ambulatory care sites, including Orland Park in the south suburbs of Chicago and River East in downtown Chicago. Maintaining and overseeing an active outpatient clinic as well as teaching and supervision of medical students, residents and fellows is also expected. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

Appointees will join a multidisciplinary team in brain tumor therapeutics comprised of established clinicians in neurology, neurosurgery, radiation oncology, and medical oncology and collaborate with existing institutional expertise in oncology drug development, clinical pharmacology, immunology, and pharmacogenomics. The University is also home to the Ludwig Center for Metastasis Research and the Neurosciences Institute and the Grossman Center for Quantitative Biology and Human Behavior.

In addition, appointees may participate in other research activity such as clinical trials. Appointees will have experience in neuro-oncology clinical trials and leverage the available infrastructure and resources in the Department of Neurology and UChicago Cancer Center to successfully launch and conduct innovative clinical trials in neuro-oncology.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) have completed an ACGME accredited residency in neurology, 4) be board certified or board eligible in neurology, 5) have completed a neuro-oncology fellowship, and 6) be UCNS neuro-oncology eligible or certified.
