Position Summary:
Integrate computer and network systems into the hospital network. Provide technical support for day to day medium to high level network issues such as upgrade planning, some network design, and second line response to trouble calls. Assist in the evaluation of new products and technology and manages projects involving network expansion and upgrades. Ensures adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. No patient care assignment.

Detailed responsibilities:
* NETWORK - Formulate, develop, and implement integrated network architectures for medium-to-large systems
* MANAGE - Provide project management to technical staff in the implementation, installation, configuration, and technical support of computer and network architecture
* PROJECTS - Coordinate projects with other departments and external organizations and agencies
* REQUIREMENTS - Negotiate exact technical requirements with vendors; establish contracts, and write technical contract specifications and proposals
* TRAINING - Design, develop, and deliver training classes and workshops in areas of computer and network systems
* NETWORK - Install, configure, and maintain computer and network operating system and application software, as appropriate; provide on-call support for computer/network systems as required
* KNOWLEDGE - Maintain a broad knowledge of current and emerging state-of-the-art computer/network systems technologies, architectures, and products
* DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops

Experience:
Essential:
3 years directly related experience Computer Wide Area/Metropolitan Area Networks operations and debugging T1/T3 as well as interfacing with telecommunications providers; and experience with network management tools, low/high speed modems, and network switches and routers

Physical Conditions:
