Position Summary
The Facilities Management Moving and Event Services Coordinator reports to the Director of Building Services. This position manages all day-to-day moving and storage operations. Assists event planners with outside departments in planning and executing moving and storage support for special events. Supervises tasks, communicates effectively with stakeholders, and ensures that every aspect of customer work requests is completed on time.
Conditions of Employment
  • This position is non-exempt, eligible to receive overtime for hours worked in a week beyond 40. This position is subject to overtime (both scheduled and unscheduled).
  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • The ability to work outdoors in temperatures below 32 degrees and above 90 degrees.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and availability to accommodate special events, emergencies, and/or unscheduled work assignments.
  • This position is considered essential and will be required to work during and following natural disasters, emergency situations, and/or when the university is officially closed. Subject to 24-hour callback.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license. Successfully complete Van Safety Training within the first ninety days of employment, subject to availability. Comply with the university’s Vehicle Use Policy.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s license and two years of driving experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, delegate, and supervise the work of others.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
  • The ability to handle conflict calmly and professionally.
  • Detail-oriented with good time-management skills. Must be able to multi-task and work to deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products (Word, Outlook, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, event management, business administration; or
  • Extensive experience in the moving, events, or hospitality industry.
  • Work experience directly with customers to plan, organize and execute special events.
  • Project planning experience.
  • Experience using project management software, such as MS Project, Smartsheet or Monday.
  • General knowledge of moving and storage or warehouse operations.

Advertised Pay Range $50,000 to $58,000; commensurate with experience.
