Position Summary/Description:


The Behavioral Health Springboard (BHS) at the School of Social Work, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, links current research to initiatives in mental health and substance use disorder treatment systems. BHS offers curricula development, technical assistance, program consultation, and face-to-face and online educational programs. Collaboration between the university and the community (local, regional/state, global) is mutually beneficial for the exchange of knowledge and resources in a context of partnership and reciprocity. These exchanges enrich scholarship and research; enhance curriculum, teaching, and learning; prepare educated, engaged citizens; strengthen values and civic responsibility; address critical societal issues; and contribute to the public good. Our training resources, products, and experienced staff help organizations design effective service delivery systems and assist with the transitions needed to implement evidence-based practices for improved client outcomes and systems efficiencies.
Hybrid:
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. If business needs change, an individual employee's designation may be adjusted with a required minimum of ten (10) business days' notice unless employee conduct or safety issues necessitate otherwise at the discretion of management.
The MHFA Training Program Coordinator will report to the BHS Director and will be primarily responsible for implementation of the MHFA campus-based training program at UNC Chapel Hill. This position will assemble and organize trainings and resources for the campus community, manage the overall budget, scheduling, coordinate campus based and external MHFA Instructors to meet campus and community demand, and implement program evaluation activities. The MHFA Coordinator will provide ongoing MHFA trainings, serve as the primary point of contact to disseminate MHFA training and information throughout the campus community. The position will also coordinate the UNC Chapel Hill network of MHFA instructors to respond to requested needs for trainings within UNC CH communities. Both virtual and in-person residential trainings will be required, in accordance with UNC CH COVID-19 Community Standards.

Education and Experience:


Master's degree in social work, psychology, public health, education or a related human services 
 field of study 
One year or more of progressively responsible program development and/or project management 
experience
At least one year of experience in direct service delivery with school behavioral health programs or 
initiatives
Experience using implementation science tools and strategies to support adaptation of innovations 
Experience using data to problem-solve and develop a continuous quality improvement process
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
