Working Title Medical Operations Associate
Brief Summary of Job Description
The Medical Operations Associate works under the general supervision of the Nursing Director in the Student Health medical clinic. This position coordinates medical services for students and provides a high level of technical and administrative to support the Student Health medical team.
Job Duties
  • Welcoming greeter for the Student health clinic.
  • Answers telephone calls/triage calls and walk ins.
  • Coordinates/schedules patient appointments to include the collection of pre-registration forms and assessments.
  • Ensures patient registration/check in; responsible for pre-collection of payments.
  • Ensures insurance verification/prior authorizations and referral scheduling.
  • Collects payments and posts charges daily; reconciles cash payment logs and cash drawer protocols. Provides point of service estimates, collects money at the time of services and processes credit card payments.
  • Collects and records all pertinent facts accurately for incoming messages.
  • Records patient demographics and insurance information for all encounters
  • Checks emails on a regular basis to ensure proper and timely communication, manages voicemails, online appointment requests, and faxes.
  • Communicates pertinent appointment information including clinic location, parking appointment arrival time and monies due at the time of service.
  • Manages urine drug screens.
  • Scans and files all documents into appropriate electronic records; maintains student medical records in EMR.
  • Provides prompt, efficient customer service to internal and external customers. ·
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • At least two years of service in a medical office or health care setting.
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer service on the telephone.
  • Demonstrated experience with computers and various computer programs, including an electronic health record.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and as well as knowledge/ experience in clinical operations of a medical setting. High school Diploma
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant (MA).
