Job Summary
The Office for Student Success is seeking a Director for Marketing and Design to create, develop, and implement an effective external and internal Student Success marketing and strategic communications program. Reporting to the Associate Vice President, this position provides hands-on marketing and communications expertise and leadership to the central organization, and more than two dozen associated units. Duties range from strategic planning of brand development and implementation to direct student success communications and marketing efforts that include creating assets, managing digital platforms and social campaigns that support the units and programs within Student Success. Working closely with colleagues in both UK Public Relations and Strategic Communications and Branding and Strategic Marketing, this role supports brand compliance and manages appropriate workflow and prioritization of requests from Student Success units. Essential duties will also involve developing platforms and providing ongoing guidance to staff members related to effectively and appropriately communicating through newsletters, social media channels, websites, event, promotional graphics, and other digital tools. The ideal candidate should be a flexible team player with a drive to innovate and experience in managing multifaceted projects.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Web-based technology (like Drupal and Salesforce), social media management, and survey instruments. Excellent working knowledge and experience with graphics and/or desktop publishing applications and have a general knowledge of database management and a working knowledge of web graphic design. Ability to generate ideas and produce written content that will drive audience engagement and participation, as well as have the ability to copy-edit.
Must be a high-energy, creative, motivated, collaborative individual with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Preferred Education/Experience
Experience in marketing, communications, digital media, or related field. Experience in higher education settings preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
