Job Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Alumni, Placement, and External Relations, the Manager of Social Media implements Silberman College’s social media strategy to develop brand awareness, generate traffic, and engage and inform audiences.  The incumbent is charged with coordinating these duties and working alongside other communications and marketing colleagues to create, package and promote engaging and relevant content via the Internet that expresses Silberman’s brand/identity.  The position is further responsible for coordinating efforts with other officials across FDU including the offices of admissions, student life and alumni relations, as well as the other colleges to ensure that Silberman College’s social media is effective, consistent with the university’s culture and values, and incorporated into as many functions and areas as possible. 
Required Qualifications:
1.      A bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of relevant work experience are required. 
 
2.      In-depth knowledge, understanding and experience with social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etc.) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios. 
 
3.      Demonstrated experience including actively participating in a wide variety of social media activities such as blogging, community development and management, commenting, posting and tagging photographs, etc. 
 
4.      Experience in management of Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube platforms, as well as experience using Google Analytics, Google AdWords, and Google AdSense. 
 
5.      Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format, to quickly and effectively edit the written work of others, and build and maintain relationships.  Knowledge of Photoshop and Microsoft Office required.  Experience with content management software, blogging software and online photo editing tools preferred.
 
6.      Understanding of the concept and execution of search engine optimization (SEO).
 
7.      Good technical and marketing/communications understanding and can pick up new tools quickly.
 
8.      Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check.  Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
