Job Summary:
 The Manager of Prospect Research and Database is the University Advancement professional with primary responsibility for identifying and quantifying information on potential donors. and identifying new funding sources. Additionally, the Manager of Prospect Research and Database will perform a wide range of research services including, but not limited to, prospect identification, data and trend analysis, detailed and general research, data mining and predictive modeling and electronic wealth screening analysis.  Reporting to the Director of Advancement Operations and Systems the Manager of Prospect Research and Database  serves as the central coordinator for the presentation of researched information, and the application of this research to the cultivation and solicitation process.  In this role, he/she manages teams comprising professionals from all University Advancement areas that plan and direct solicitation, cultivation and other advancement related initiatives.  
 
Required Qualifications:
1.      Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.   
 
2.      Three – five years of prior experience in prospect/donor research with increasing levels of responsibility, preferably in an institution of higher education.  
 
3.      Fluency with computer and internet-based applications.  Experience with Raiser’s Edge required.  
 
4.      Advanced knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and experience with the import and export functions in Blackbaud suite of products.
 
5.      Proficiency working with computerized data management, spreadsheet and word processing systems.
 
6.      An understanding of advancement work, and the general responsibilities of all professionals within the Office of University Advancement.  
  
7.      An extensive understanding of, and working familiarity with, public and private research sources.  
 
8.      Excellent organization and organizational skills.  
 
9.      Excellent writing skills.  
 
10.   Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check.  Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
