MANAGER OF PROGRAMS, MIT INTRODUCTION TO TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND SCIENCE (MITES) , Office of Engineering Outreach Programs (OEOP), to supervise/oversee the work of MITES program staff who run the day-to-day tasks of each program . Will align and manage the implementation of all the outreach programs (enrollment, staffing, and program logistics); lead a team of seven-plus full-time staff supporting MITES programs; and collaborate with business partners within MITES and external business partners, vendors, and other MIT offices to fully implement MITES’ outreach programs and ensure the safety of students and staff.  Responsibilities include leading and overseeing--in consultation with the executive director, program administrators, coordinators, and assistants--program assessment and evaluation, program planning and strategy, instructional staff hiring/onboarding/training, staff/student support and performance management, student enrollment, teaching/learning approach, and budget management; writing funding proposals, reports, and program-related communications; and collaborating on managing external and internal partnerships/relationships that support MITES programs.  


Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree, preferably in STEM and/or education; five years’ direct program development and project planning experience, preferably in higher education; and management experience.  PREFERRED:  master’s degree; experience with and support for diversity, outreach, college access, and STEM education; success supervising/managing multiple direct reports/teams and building collaborative relationships; excellent leadership, management, data analysis, organizational, meeting management, project management, decision-making, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills; good judgment with confidential information; ability to collaborate in a team with diverse backgrounds and skill sets, synthesize information from various sources, multitask, manage time and deadlines, and remain flexible/adaptable in a fast-paced and rapidly changing working environment; proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Excel) and cloud-based collaboration tools (e.g., Google Drive), SharePoint, and Dropbox; written and oral Spanish language skills; and MIT experience.  Job #22417-10

Must be able to work evenings and weekends during the academic year and summer, including long hours during summer programming execution.
