Job Description
DIRECTOR, OPERATIONS AND STRATEGY, Resource Development (RD)-Office of Foundation Relations (OFR), to play a leadership role within OFR. Will partner with the executive director, directors, staff, RD colleagues, MIT administrative leadership, and external parties to develop, direct, and execute operational plans and strategies for the growth and expansion of OFR's fundraising program.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; five years' experience in a development operation, preferably in a complex higher education environment managing budgets, programs, projects, and people; two years' experience supervising staff, setting goals, and managing performance; strong leadership, diplomacy, and motivational skills for influencing others and moving toward a common vision/goal; support for MIT's commitment to advancement and diversity, equity, and inclusion; initiative; excellent organizational, planning, problem-solving, time-management, presentation, project management, quantitative, analytical, customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills; attention to accuracy, quality, detail, and time sensitivity; record of accomplishment in a position requiring independent planning and efficient utilization of time and resources, including experience managing budgets; demonstrated tact and diplomacy; sound judgment and discretion with confidential information; high-level proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; and ability to become proficient in new technologies/systems. Must be able to understand and articulate MIT's mission and goals; manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, complex environment with a variety of stakeholders; make data-based decisions and implement metrics that achieve results; work strategically; demonstrate flexibility in responding to changing business needs/priorities; build strong teams and relationships to achieve fundraising goals; and work independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a service-oriented environment. PREFERRED: knowledge of prospect research methods and tools and understanding of and experience with Advance and Zoom. Job #23864-9
